Giving a colleague difficult feedback takes practice. For NoNons leadership courses, we used ElevenLabs to create an AI agent that plays that colleague, so participants could rehearse a realistic conversation between in-person training sessions.
I helped define how a conversational AI colleague should behave for NoNons leadership training. That included the situations participants would practise, realistic reactions and guardrails. We built the experience with ElevenLabs and refined it through testing with real people.
I began with the training method and the people using it: what makes these conversations difficult, and how might a colleague react? We translated that into the agent’s behaviour, tested different ways of giving feedback and used participants’ feedback to improve its responses.
